The rules of USGA / R & A as approved by M.G.A. shall apply to all forms of play.
The rules shall take effect 1st August 2008.
LOCAL RULES
The committee may from time to time make such rules deemed relevant to the situation.
THE COMPETITION COMMITTEE
This Sub-committee is formed by the committee member who shall sit as its Chairman.
COURSE CONTROL
Daily play can only start at the 1st & 10th tee unless the committee decides otherwise.
2 and 1 ball flights have no standing at all times
ELIGIBILITY TO PLAY
A player holding an official USGA handicap or unless otherwise permitted by the Captain or Committee is eligible to play.
Reciprocal members must satisfy all conditions laid out in the agreement between respective clubs.
Walk-in players satisfying all conditions as laid out for them.
Registered family members, juniors and priviledged members with permission from the Captain or Committee.
PT holders must be accompanied by a 20 or below handicapper who shall be responsible for him / her.
A player must possess a valid Golfers’ Insurance.
VISITORS
Reciprocal : Visitors belonging to clubs with reciprocal arrangements can use the club’s facilities up to a maximum of 14 times per year. They shall be governed by all rules applied to RPGC members.
Walk In Golfers: They can only be allowed in the club premises if they are registered having paid all their dues and satisfy our dress code and hold an official handicap.
REGISTRATION OF PLAY
3 or 4 players must be present physically to register with the Starter for their turn to tee-off.
COURSE BOOKING FOR PRIVATE COMPETITIONS
This is governed by the package deals as stipulated by the committee.
COMPETITIONS ORGANISED BY THE CLUB
Eligibility: Open to all members except:
Defaulters
Those suspended for disciplinary offence.
In specified competitions where member’s handicaps do not satisfy the conditions laid out.
Not selected when oversubscribed in entries.
Registration / Entries : All entries must follow the conditions spelt out by the organizing committee.
Withdrawal / Absent : All withdrawals must be made at least 24 hours before the competition failing which competition fees will still be charged followed by a show-cause letter.
Prize Presentation: Ball sweep will be forfeited if players are not present during prize presentation.
Club Representation: All club representatives will be entitled to claims equivalent to grade M3 (Government Rate) + 1 dozen club logo balls + 2 club t-shirts per participant.
RPGC Countback Ruling : For Gross winners only – sudden death. For Nett-The countback system is as follows:_ last 18 holes, last 9 holes (1/2), last 6 holes (1/3), last 3 holes (1/6) and last hole. Lower handicap player wins if everything is still square.
TYPES OF COMPETITIONS AS SCHEDULED IN THE ANNUAL CALENDAR.
MONTHLY MEDALS
Open to all members with official handicaps of 24 and below for men. Juniors & ladies will play with approval of the competition committee.
Mode of play shall be Stroke play / Stableford / Bogey by rotation each month.
There shall be 3 divisions:-
A Medal (handicap 12 and below)
B Medal (handicap 13 to 18 )
C Medal (handicap 19 to 24 below)
Should there be necessity arising due to the number of participants, the
competition committee reserves the right to change the number of divisions.
Prizes will be awarded to each division
Entrance fee plus ballsweep will be chargeable at RM 20.00 per participants.
THE ANNUAL RPGC CHAMPIONSHIP
The championship is a gross event for club members only with handicap of 12 and below.
It shall be decided over 3 consecutive rounds unless, due to unplayable conditions, the competition committee decides otherwise.
In the event of a tie for the winner, a sudden death play-off according to designated hole(s) shall decide the winner.
Running in conjunction with the championship is a Nett Event for participants with handicap 18 and below. Those in the championship will automatically qualify for this Nett event. The RPGC countback system will decide Nett ties.
Entrance Fees
3 Day Championship – RM 30.00
2 Day Nett Championship – RM 25.00
(Irrespective of whether participant makes the cut or not)
Should the situation arise, the committee shall impose a cut-off point for the final day.
INTER-CLUB MATCHES
The competition committee reserves the right to select from the registration list, the active players to represent the club.
Caddy fees for our visitors will be borne by the club.
The format shall be bestball match play.
Ballsweep will be based on stableford bestball.
THE RPGC MASTERS – NETT EVENT
Only eligible for members who have won any club organised individual competition for the previous 12 months.
The competition shall be over 18 holes stroke play off current handicap, subject to a maximum of 18. Those with 19 and above will be computed off 18 for the nett event.
Prizes – There will be
(I) Overall Nett
(II) Medals A and B only
The number of prizes will be decided by the committee.
Fees – RM 25.00 including ballsweep.
RABBITS COMPETITION
Eligibility;
Member with handicap 24 and have not won any competition for the last 12 months.
Member without a handicap but have passed the proficiency test.
Mode of competition – stableford over 18 holes.
Fees- RM 25.00 including ballsweep.
ANNUAL BOGEY
Eligibility – All members with handicap 24 and below.
Mode of competition – Bogey play.
Prizes – Overall, A,B and C Medals. Ballsweep per nine.
Fees- RM 25.00
HANDICAP
Official Handicap . Official club handicaps shall be assigned to successful members on completion of their:
(1) Proficiency test
(2) Theory test
(3) Practical testThis may be withdrawn by the handicaps committees if rules governing the system is violated.
Score Cards. All score cards are accepted if:
(1) They are properly checked & signed.
(2) They show the true playing ability of the player. The handicap committee reserves the right to reject any card that indicates any abnormalities.
Arbitrary Handicap Cuts. This shall follow the standard charts sanction 8-4 for all competitions organised by the club and for a duration of 90 days.
Declaring of handicap. No one can declare his / her handicap to any figure except the one computed and approved by the handicap committee in accordance to USGA system.
More Than One Handicap. Members belonging to more than one club shall play to their club handicap for the club’s competitions but must play off to the lowest handicap for major competitions and on neutral club venues.
Lapse And Suspension Of Handicap. Present active members shall submit one card a month. Failing to submit at least one in 3 months will have his / her handicap lapsed or suspended / withdrawn. This may result in no reciprocal facilities, no participation in competitions and may be subjected to reassessment.
Applying For Club Handicap. New players must follow the following procedures:
(1) When ready : apply for proficiency test.
(2) Passing which : Practice on course and accumulate at least 10 cards.
(3) When ready : apply for written rules and etiquette test.
(4) Passing which : apply for a practical test.
BUGGIES
Payment for buggies must be made at the registration counter before commencement of play and receipts kept for inspection by starters / marshal.
All members must abide by the conditions for usage of buggies. Any breach of rules will result in suspension from further use of buggies.
PRIORITY AND STANDING
Subject to KDYMM Sultan Pahang’s Royal prerogative, priority and standing on the course shall subject to the following regulations unless otherwise expressly determined by the committee.
The President, Deputy Presidents, Vice-Presidents and Captain shall have absolute standing and priority on the course.
COURSE ETIQUETTE
Any damage- divots, ball marks etc must be rectified by the player before he / she leaves the spot.
No littering.
Caddy carts and trolleys are not allowed on the tee boxes, greens or sand bunkers.
RARE FEATS
Hole-In-One: An award of 36 balls for the feat. For recognition purposes of the Club this must be certified by at least one witness. This recognition on home course only.
Eagle’s Nest: Maximum of 3 dozen balls during club competitions.
Daily Play: 3 Balls for eagle

MISCELLANEOUS
Attire: Shirts, Collarless T-Shirts, Jeans, Track-Suits and short-shorts are not allowed.
Sharing of clubs is not allowed.
No pitching is allowed on the practice greens.
JUNIOR & FAMILY MEMBERS
Shall enjoy all existing facilities. Shall be allowed to participate in club organized games only with the approval of the Captain / Competition Committee.
Junior members below the age of 12 playing golf are to be accompanied by an adult player.
Junior members are not permitted to use buggies unless accompanied by an adult player.
CROSS-OVER TIMES
Priority shall be given to flights crossing over before 4.00 p.m. Thereafter flights shall register again for the 2nd nine.
