The Royal Pahang Golf Club is one of the few golf clubs in Malaysia which is endowed with the Royal title. It was originally named ‘The Kuantan Golf Club’ when it first started with only 12 members. Thereafter it continued to grow by leaps and bounds in terms of stature and exclusivity. Today, the Royal Pahang Golf Club is among the most established and prestigious golf clubs in the country.
When it started, the Royal Pahang Golf Club only had a flat 9-hole golf course and used standard Malaysian cow grass before it was given a facelift later and upgraded into what it is today where it is now an 18-hole championship course. The Royal Pahang Golf Club is located strategically not far from Kuantan town and about 10 minutes away from the popular tourist destination of Teluk Chempedak. The course is built across 120-acres of land where it is set against the backdrop that overlooks the South China Sea. As such, the golfer will surely enjoy the game here which gets a lot of sun and the gushing sea-breeze that blows into the mainland.
Within the course is the First Nine which is known for its wide fairways and was mostly the original Nine before the upgrade. The Second Nine meanwhile has more water hazards, bunkers and taller trees which provide a totally different dimension to the game and challenge for the golfer.
